This a piece that a friend found and wanted painted, distressed, and then glazed. We kept the original pulls since we thought they were pretty neat. White glazing is more time consuming than just painting, I think the effect is beautiful, giving furniture a unique, aged look.
Up until the surprise pregnancy with baby #3, I worked for Creative Cabinets & Faux Finishes, learning to prep, paint, and glaze cabinets. I've taken that knowledge and training and used it to transform beat-up furniture finds into beautiful pieces. Now that people are asking me to paint for them, I thought making an online medium for my work would be a great way to "advertise".

Painting and Glazing
This a piece that a friend found and wanted painted, distressed, and then glazed. We kept the original pulls since we thought they were pretty neat. White glazing is more time consuming than just painting, I think the effect is beautiful, giving furniture a unique, aged look.
Kitchen Cabinet Before and After
This is a Ethan Allen shelf/cabinet I found at a thrift store. The wood was in great shape, just a little dated. I painted the entire piece in a "country french yellow" and then distressed the edges. I also changed out the pulls and hinges with oil-rubbed bronze hardware. And I fixed the shelves so they would be even.
